11 Tevet 5785
Vayechi
After Jacob’s death, Joseph’s brothers were frightened. They had abandoned their homes due to drought and famine. They were in a strange place. Their father was gone. They felt vulnerable.
But, Joseph tried to put their minds at ease. He said: “So now, do not be afraid! I myself will sustain you and your little ones (Gen. 50:21).”
We have the opportunity to play the part of Joseph. As the wildfires continue to spread in Los Angeles, more and more people are abandoning their homes. They don’t know where they’re going to spend the night. They’re not sure where their next meal is going to come from.
We can help.
